It's been a tough couple of years. (Not bad, just tough.)
1. What did you do in 2015 that you'd never done before?
Got married!(2014) Took the lead in managing the asset management program at work.(2014) Got involved in playing in an MMO.(2015) Took over the management of my mother's estate.(2015)
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I'm trying to stop apologizing/downplaying my achievements.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My niece had a baby boy in November of 2014.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
My nephew (the one who had a little girl in 2013) died in a farming accident in Spring of 2014.
My mother passed away on August 20th of this year of heart failure, 11 days shy of her 86th birthday.
5. What countries did you visit?
Maybe next year...
6. What would you like to have in 2016 that you lacked in 2015?
Travel. Vacation! (a real one!)
7. What dates from 2015 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
August 20th.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Mostly boring work stuff. XP (2015)
Marrying my best friend and love, Nancy, on June 15th. (2014)
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not spending enough time with family.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Aside from some lower-back complaints, I'm lucky. I expect that my gall-bladder is only a matter of time...
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Ummmm... a new sewer line for the house? Not glamorous, but the alternatives were truly scary.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My sister in law, Grace. My wife, Nancy. All of my friends for their patience while I bounce to and from Maryland, where I work.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
No one.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Home renovations, without a doubt.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Even after 30+ years together, I was still so nervous about marrying Nan in 2014. (Who knew??)
16. What song will always remind you of 2015?
Gotta think on that one...
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Mostly happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? Same as last year. Gotta fix that.
iii. richer or poorer? About the same.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Art, Writing, Reading.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
... I wouldn't change a thing. Honestly.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
Visiting 5 families and one grave, all in the span of 2 and a half days.

22. Did you fall in love in 2015?

None.
24. What was your favorite TV program?

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nope.

A challenge at work.

Would have liked to keep Mom a bit longer, but isn't that always the way?

Star Wars

Worked. (eyeroll)

If I was sure that I could manage Mom's estate well, and keep the family peace.

Friends, most especially G-cat and Soranokumo. <3

Still Rachel Maddow. Carrie Fisher is pretty awesome, too.

Campaign reform, Syrian refugees.

Mom.

Probably still the people at work.

Don't stop pushing for what you want. If you aren't willing to advocate for yourself, then why should anyone else?
